Anonymous asked: Do you get strange looks for taking self-portraits in such public places? Especially the one of you on the subway -- how do you work up the courage to do something like that? Does anyone ever say rude things to you?

I just have to really believe in the project and the reason for public self-portraits. People will look and stare and whisper about anything out of the ordinary, but at least if you have confidence in why you feel like you’re breaking status quo you shouldn’t have to justify it to other people. And nobody has ever said anything rude to my face, but interesting to dream up an instance where people would be so annoying or agitated by my behavior that I’d get a comment like that. Hmm.
